چکیده

Methods Patients referred for assessment of ARVD/C were evaluated. Using 2010 ARVD/C Task Force criteria, clinical history, family history, ECG and other test results were evaluated with and without CMR findings to determine definite, borderline or possible ARVD/C. CMR included assessment of right ventricular(RV) size, function, and regional wall motion(RWM). For alternative diagnoses, tissue characterization and late gadolinium enhancement were routinely performed. Qp:Qs was performed when intracardiac shunt was suspected by the supervising physician.

MRI of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is currently considered as the noninvasive modality of choice for evaluation of patients with suspected Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia (i.e., right ventricular dysplasia). As arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia (ARVC/D) it is included in the WHO classification of cardiomyopathies. It has the unique ability to provide tissue char...

Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy mimics: clinical impact of cardiovascular magnetic resonance

Background The diagnosis of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) often relies on CMR to assess volumes, function and myocardial tissue characterization for detection of both fat and fibrosis in vivo. Clinical suspicious of ARVC often leads to CMR evaluation to refute or confirm a diagnosis. However, various diseases may mimic ARVC causing diagnostic dilemmas. We used CMR to ex...

The Role of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging in the Evaluation of Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia

Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia (ARVC/D) is a cardiac muscle disorder characterized pathologically by fibrofatty replacement of the right ventricular (RV) myocardium [1]. In the early stage of the disease, structural changes may be confined to, the so called "triangle of dysplasia" in the RV. Clinical expression ranges from an asymptomatic phenotype, arrhythmias or eve...

Value of repeated cardiac magnetic resonance imaging in patients with suspected arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy.

AIM Diagnosis of early stages of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC) with minimal structural abnormalities is challenging. The purpose of this study was to assess the value of repeated cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) in patients referred for right ventricular arrhythmias and clinical suspicion of ARVC. METHODS AND RESULTS Prospective follow-up study of 18 patients ...
